When you think of hunting mallards, does flooded timber and rice fields in Arkansas come to mind? Well, have you ever imagined hunting a warm water slough from a cozy blind, or hunting open water in a stealthy layout boat, or even hunting flooded marshes from ground blinds while surrounded by the rolling hills of Nebraska?

Probably not. You have been missing out. Come hunt with us... we've got it all. Hunt the infamous Platte River where hundreds of thousands of ducks and geese visit each fall and winter. You will be safe, comfortable and isolated from reality. This is a great opportunity to hunt a totally new environment. We have access to private corn fields, warm water sloughs and the river bottom. A wide variety of techniques that come from 34 years of hunting experience are used. From Avery Finisher layout blinds, custom welded big water boat blinds motored by Go-Devil engines, and custom built ground level pits. We have the most up to date equipment to make your trip as comfortable and memorable as possible.

Our decoy sets include 100% exclusively Greenhead Gear decoys by Avery. Sometimes we use a dozen decoys and sometimes a very large spread of 200-300 decoys is required to get the job done, whether hunting ducks or geese and we have what it takes.

As Pro-Staff and Video Team members of RNT Calls, Inc., we use RNT Calls exclusively. From Daisy Cutters to Short Barrels and the new MicroHen, our calling repertoire leads the ducks down into the decoys so you are shooting them "in your face" style.

Over the past five years, we have averaged 21 ducks per day. We have a 90 day waterfowl season that begins in early October and ends in early January.

Bring your Retrievers
We highly encourage you to bring your duck hounds. We ask that your dog be obedient and have a started dog efficiency at minimum, preferably non-breaking. We supply Avery Finisher Dog Blinds and plastic crate kennels for transporting and sleeping. Please bring your own dog food, dog bowl and leashes.

On Lake McConaughy, 50 fish days are not uncommon with the average size walleye being 15-18 inches. However, 5-8 pounders are fairly common and lots of walleyes weighing 8-15 pounds are caught on Lake McConaughy each year. April, May and June provide pre-spawn as well as post spawn opportunities to catch aggressive, hungry walleyes. July and August require more detailed techniques in the fertile and bait rich waters. We don't just go fishing, we go catching!
